Regular preventive maintenance of heating and cooling equipment is an important way to keep equipment running efficiently and identify potential problems. In addition, optimizing or “recommissioning” heating and cooling equipment every few years can deliver cost-saving improvements and increase comfort for building occupants. Building systems can become less efficient over time and many don’t receive proper calibration when installed.
While EnergySmart no longer offers incentives to optimize heating and cooling equipment, Advisors will share optimization results and encourage businesses and contractors to incorporate optimization measures with equipment maintenance. Platte River Power Authority continues to offer its Efficiency Works Building Tune-Up Program that addresses heating and cooling optimization as part of a broader building retrocommissioning service. In Addition, Xcel Energy offers their Building Tune-Up and Retrocomissioning programs.
The Boulder Chamber optimized their heating and cooling equipment to save money and created a more comfortable work environment for employees.
The 515 Kimbark Office building also optimized their equipment and completed other efficiency improvements for significant cost savings. READ MORE
