EnergySmart offers discount on residential assessment fee

Boulder County, Colo. – Residents in all Boulder County communities are now eligible for a $30 discount on a home energy assessment or SmartRegs inspection, bringing the $120 cost for these services down to $90 for residents or owners of single-family and/or multi-family properties, including rental property owners in the City of Boulder pursuing SmartRegs compliance.

Additionally, residents in Boulder County wishing to learn more can now enroll for a free phone-only consultation. The free phone-only service will allow residents to ask questions and get advice based on similar homes.

Boulder gives out more than $160,000 in SmartRegs rebates

Boulder officials announced Friday that there are no more SmartRegs rebates available for 2012 after giving out $160,420 in upgrade assistance this year.

The rebates -- designed to help defray the cost of complying with the city's new SmartRegs energy-efficiency standards for rental property owners -- will be available again in 2013, but the amount and structure of the rebates have not been announced.

Reichert family will receive $20,000 worth of energy upgrades

Boulder County, Colo. – John Reichert and his family received a pleasant surprise when the Boulder County Commissioners and EnergySmart staffers visited to award them the Grand Prize in the EnergySmart Home Energy Makeover.

The Home Energy Makeover grand prize, valued at approximately $20,000, includes a new energy efficient furnace, air sealing and insulation upgrades to the attic and crawlspace/basement, an energy efficient water heater, cooling system upgrades, and $4,000 to use for recommended energy upgrades of the homeowner's choosing.

Boulder County, Colo. – Four lucky Boulder County homeowners received a pleasant surprise today when EnergySmart staffers showed up to award them with $10,000 worth of home energy upgrades.

The four homes announced today won equal second-place prizes in EnergySmart's Home Energy Makeover contest. The prizes include a new energy efficient furnace, home air sealing and insulation upgrades, and $1,500 to use toward a recommended energy upgrade of the homeowner's choice. Each winning home was randomly selected from all entries of homes needing these upgrades.

An Energy Efficient Home (Free Money for Energy Efficiency Upgrades)

Are you paying high utility bills and wishing your home were more comfortable' Planning on energy upgrades, but unsure of where to start' Before you replace those windows, attend this seminar. We will practice simple energy-saving measures, setting priorities for the biggest bang for your energy buck, and review the ways that Boulder County's energy conservation program, EnergySmart, can help you achieve your goals (free money!). Bring your specific energy questions, a wintertime energy bill, and a small appliance to test with the Kill A Watt electricity usage monitor.

Please read: Each student will receive a $50 coupon toward enrollment in EnergySmart services. Each student that enrolls in EnergySmart will receive a free energy-saving kit for their home. The kit contains several CFLs, a showerhead, 2 faucet aerators, pipe insulation, and weatherstripping.

Classes offered September 20 and 27 at Casey Middle or Monarch High Schools.
