Read more...Rebates from the EnergySmart program for commercial property owners to upgrade their lighting or HVAC systems are ending because the funds have run out, according to the program's administrators.
The program has issued $1,222,000 in rebates since it launched in November 2010, according to data provided by EnergySmart. More than 500 businesses have received rebates, which were issued for more than 730 projects.

Boulder County, Colo. – The EnergySmart commercial service continues to be a great success, thanks to all of the businesses and contractors throughout Boulder County that have implemented energy saving projects. Due to the high response, only $143,000 remains of the EnergySmart commercial rebate funds. EnergySmart has awarded more than $1 million to businesses since the rebates launched in November 2010.

Over the last year and a half, W.W. Reynolds has voluntarily retrofitted more than 1 million square feet of its commercial real estate with energy-efficiency upgrades, which have largely included new lighting or heating and cooling systems.
