Free LED lights available to residents who sign up for EnergySmart

County residents who enroll in the EnergySmart program by Dec. 31 will receive free LED holiday lights. The EnergySmart program is designed to help area property owners reduce their energy use. Residents who sign up will have an energy advisor visit their homes and point out where upgrades can be made. Energy advisors can also help homeowners get financing for upgrades.

Since January, $217,000 in EnergySmart rebates have helped 230 commercial properties sport new, high-efficiency lighting. Eighteen have upgraded heating, air conditioning and water heaters, and 16 boast improved refrigeration.

EnergySmart info sessions set for Nov. in Longmont

County residents will have two opportunities in Longmont soon to learn about Boulder County's EnergySmart program.

The program helps make becoming more energy efficient easier and more affordable. Representatives from the program will be in Longmont at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, and Tuesday, Nov. 15, at U.S. Bank, 436 Coffman St. There'll be a 30-minute presentation, refreshments will be served and there will be plenty of time for the public to ask questions.

Boulder County program will cover 50% of cost for businesses to tune-up heating, cooling system

The Boulder County EnergySmart program will cover 50 percent of the cost for businesses and commercial property owners to tune up existing heating and cooling systems until the end of October.

Companies can receive 50 percent back on the amount they spend to tune up existing heating and cooling systems through the county's EnergySmart program.
